JIGGINSTOWN Castle, a tower house on the periphery of what was once the Pale, was built in the late 1630s when Ireland was under the reign of Charles I. It was intended to be a home for the king during visits, but wasn’t completed due to civil unrest.

Castle Farm, on the outskirts of Naas, was named after the castle, which lies in ruins. It is being built by Ardstone Homes. The scheme, which will comprise

178 homes when it’s finished, is launching for the first time tomorrow. Prices for the first phase of 23 houses start at

€295,000 for a 1,130-sq ft threebed, mid-terrace style and go up to €375,000 for a four-bed semi with between 1,421 sq ft and

1,507 sq ft of living space. The price includes a bespoke fitted kitchen with a stone-effect worktop, integrated appliances, bathroom tiling, and fitted bedroom wardrobes.

The facades of the houses are either in a full brick or a combination of brick and render, depending on the style selected, with double-glazed UPVC windows. Each house has a front driveway with Tobermore paving, with the terraced houses coming with two dedicated parking spaces. The A3-rated homes are 5km from the Sallin/ Naas train station and 2km from the N7 road that connects Naas with Dublin.
