Eau so fresh
Floral for spring? Not that groundbreaking, I know, but every year we tend to associate this season with sprouting buds and fresh blooms, especially when it comes to fragrance. It’s the time of year where we wave goodbye to rich wintery scents and embrace colourful fresh citrus notes. If you’re expecting, it’s quite common to have a love/hate relationship with fragrance
— you may find yourself favouring ingredients that you previously didn’t like or you may find that your signature scent turns your stomach. Nothing says the arrival or spring quite like the scent of cherry blossom and Shiseido Ever Bloom Sakura Art edition, 30ml, €53, encapsulates this perfectly. It’s a mix of cherry blossom and orange blossom with a soft woody musk to create a delicate, fresh, scent. This is spring in a bottle. Spring scents are supposed to be fun, floral and vibrant — which perfectly sums up the Daisy Marc Jacobs Twinkle edition, 50ml, €69. With notes of wild berries and violet flowers with a base of white woods, it’s a beautifully fun scent if you don’t like your perfume to be too fruity. If like me, you prefer rich oaky fragrances, I recommend the men’s edition of Calvin Klein Obsessed
Intense, 125ml, €72.40. Yes, there is a women’s edition on the market (think notes of citrus and lavender) but the men’s version perfectly sums up the new season for me. Notes of grapefruit and Sichuan pepper along with leaf cedar and black vanilla create a soft, creamy, sultry scent.
