Everton ask fans to rate Allardyce out of 10

- Chris Bascombe

EVERTON have invited a group of their supporters to give Sam Allardyce’s managerial performance a mark out of 10.

A survey sent to members of Goodison’s Fans’ Panel includes the question on how much faith there is in the ability of Allardyce and his backroom team’s ability to maximise potential within the squad.

With Everton seeking to ascertain fans’ current feelings towards the club, supporters are asked to grade out of 10 their agreement with the statement: “I have a high level of trust in the current manager and coaching staff of Everton e.g. in making the right decisions to get the best out of the team.”

The question is one of several on the club’s direction, with supporters also asked to assess player loyalty and application, media coverage and how much belief they have in the senior leadership.

Such surveys are common across Premier League clubs but the result of the managerial question will be enlightening and well-timed for the hierarchy at Goodison Park as majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri prepares for yet another summer of tough choices.

Robert Elstone, the chief executive, leaves for rugby league at the end of this season, while Steve Walsh, the director of football, looks as vulnerable as his manager should another high-level reshuffle go ahead.

Allardyce is pushing ahead with plans for next season’s campaign, confirming last week he aims to take Everton to Austria for a pre-season training camp in July. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
