Expect top prices in sought-after Dalkey

ENDERLY, the first new development to be built in Dalkey in more than a decade, has become the first new residential scheme in the country in about 10 years to have three houses fetch a sales price of more than €2m apiece, according to the selling agent. Despite being quietly unveiled to the market last year, No 16 and No 18 Enderly each sold for €2.5m, while No 8 was bought for €2m. The Cunningham Road development, which is made up of just 18 homes, is being built on the grounds of the former Enderly estate — where the father of the late playwright Hugh Leonard worked as a gardener. Viewings are now being held to sell the five properties currently available at Enderly. But at €875,000 and €995,000, No 2 and No 10 Enderly are among the most expensive two-bed houses on the market in Ireland. No 2, a 1,523-sq ft property, is from the Belfry style, so has two ensuite bedrooms on its second floor, a dual-aspect living room on the first floor, and a kitchen/diner/lounge on the ground floor. No 10 Enderly, which measures 1,532 sq ft, is from the Pembroke range and has a separate living room as well as a kitchen/ diner/lounge on the ground floor, with two ensuite bedrooms each occupying the first and second floors. The remaining three houses on the market at Enderly are priced from €1.225m to €1.3m. Like No 2 and No 10, they are built from concrete and steel and have facades finished in St Ives Cream Rustica brick imported from Belgium. There is Moleanos limestone from Portugal to the windows surrounds and triple-glazed Alu-Clad windows from Scandinavia. Each planted garden and patio was landscaped by Murphy + Sheanon, and all homes have two car spaces. Interior finishes include solid oak handmade kitchens from DesignHouse Dalkey.
