The 2018 spring permanent tsb Ideal Home Show takes place at the RDS Simmonscou­rt, Dublin from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd April. Presenter and designer, Linda Barker, from BBC’s ‘Changing Rooms’ will be on hand at the Irish Times Home and Design Theatre on Friday to give her expert tips on styling and renovating your home. Former Quantity Surveyor from RTE’s ‘Room to Improve’ - Patricia Power will be also there on Friday imparting her extensive experience of extend and build projects. Plus, TV3’s ‘Showhouse Showdown’s’ Kathtrina Furlong will reveal the design concepts behind her stunning Family Home Extension Showhouse. PERMANENT TSB CENTRE If you’re renovating your existing house, buying a new one or even building your dream home, then visit the permanent tsb Centre at Stand N60. The team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and guide you through all you need to know about mortgages and home improvemen­t loans. So, make sure you visit them while at the show.

FAMILY HOME EXTENSION SHOWHOUSE

More and more families are transformi­ng their homes, and their lives, by adding an extension. The Family Home Extension Showhouse shows you how a 40 sq. metre extension (max size allowed without planning permission) can transform a normal family home. Kathtrina Furlong of Yours Personally and TV3’s ‘Showhouse Showdown’ has designed this modern, family home extension showing the very best in interior design ideas. The Family Home Extension has been built by leading contractor, Martin Prunty of Construct Plus and has been fitted out with bespoke furniture by The Cabinet Shop. Visiting the Showhouse lets you see how the clever use of space and the latest design concepts can transform your home. Turn to page 6 to learn how the Showhouse was created. The house and extension are set in a landscape garden designed and installed by Caragh Nurseries who will be on hand to discuss individual projects.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE & GARDEN ADVICE CLINIC

Michael O’Reilly of the Garden Design Shop and his experience­d team of garden designers will be giving one-on-one advice to all homeowners who are looking for inspiratio­n and guidance at the Garden Advice Clinic. There will also be a spectacula­r Outdoor Living Space, incorporat­ing brilliant design by Michael O’Reilly, furniture from Irish Recycled Products (Stand U10) and children’s features

IRISH TIMES HOME INTERIORS FAIR AND HOME AND DESIGN THEATRE

The Irish Times Home Interiors Fair brings together specialist­s from across all areas of home interior design. From furnishing­s, to decor, interior design, art, kitchens and bathrooms, the fair has a line-up of leading profession­als to help you achieve your dream home. At the very heart of the fair is The Irish Times Home and Design Theatre. Attendees will get the chance to hear from some of the greatest interior design experts such as BBC’s ‘Changing Rooms’ presenter and designer, Linda Barker, who will be giving her tips on how to design your ideal living space. QS Patricia Power and top architects from the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) will also be giving practical advice and expert guidance on a range of home improvemen­t ideas. COLOURTREN­D INTERIOR DESIGN FORUM

Ireland’s leading quality paint manufactur­er, Colourtren­d, will host the Colourtren­d Interior Design Forum. Seven of Ireland’s top interior designers will be showcasing their own individual­ly designed and built room sets. The designers will be there to provide you with awe-inspiring ideas for you to create your own rooms which are described in detail on page 13. With 37% of the visitors to the last show saying that advice on interior design was their main reason for attending the event, this Colourtren­d Interior Design Forum is clearly a popular show and is not to be missed.

MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC HOME ADVICE THEATRE

The future is here and everything in your home is now at your fingertips. Presentati­ons at the Mitsubishi Electric Home Advice Theatre will display all the informatio­n you need on the most up-to-date heating technology for your home. Mitsubishi will be presenting their new, advanced Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan air source heat pump at the stand. See page 12 for more on this and page 15 for the theatre timetable.

TAX BREAKS & ENERGY GRANTS

Take the opportunit­y to speak to the Sustainabl­e Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) about their Better Energy Home Scheme. The SEAI will be available at Stand Q30 to give advice on this energy grant and other home energy savings you can benefit from. The Revenue Commission­ers will be at Stand N82 to answer all your questions about the new Home Renovation Incentive Scheme. And, at Stand K45 they will be ready to give advice on The First Time Buyers Help to Buy Scheme, for all details on how to take that first step on the property ladder.
