Corinthians aim to keep defence intact

-

THE action continues with three more finals at The Sportsground this Sunday as the U-13, U-15 and U-17 Cups will be down for decision.

First up at 12pm is the meeting of Corinthians and Sligo in the U-13 final, with both teams showing very impressive form en route to the decider.

Incredibly, Corinthians have yet to concede a point in the tournament, holding Creggs, Buccaneers and Claremorris all scoreless in comprehensive wins. Sligo booked their place in the final with a 10-0 win over Monivea, while they also enjoyed wins over NUIG and Ballina.

At U-15 level, it’s the meeting of Ballina and Galwegians from 2pm. Ballina were comfortable winners over Buccaneers in the last four while they came through a tough test with Corinthians in the quarter-finals, eventually winning 12-8. Like Corinthians at U-13 level, Wegians can also rely on a mean defence, conceding just seven points in their victories over Monivea, Tuam and Sligo.

Lastly, Ballinasloe and Corinthians do battle in the U-17 Cup final with kick-off time at 4pm.

Ballinasloe were comprehensive victors over Sligo and Corrib as were Corinthians in their wins over Monivea and Galwegians. All in all, it’s set to be another brilliant day’s rugby with tickets €10 for adults, €5 for 12-18-year-olds and free entry for kids.
