SSE AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREVIEWS

- — AIDAN FITZMAURICE

BRAY WANDERERS v LIMERICK (Carlisle Grounds, 7.45)

Team news: Bray will be without Aaron Greene, Jake Kelly, John Sullivan, Darragh Noone and Darragh Gibbons, while Limerick must plan without the suspended Cian Coleman.

Talking point: Two teams really struggling for goals. Bray have scored only once in their last five games and that will give Limerick belief that they can build on their point in Tallaght last week.

Ref: Paul McLaughlin

Odds: Bray 5/4, Limerick 11/5, Draw 23/10

Verdict: Draw

CORK CITY v DUNDALK

(Turner’s Cross, 7.15, live on RTÉ 2)

Team news: City can recall Steven Beattie after suspension. Dundalk are still without Karolis Chvedukas, but Michael Duffy, Daniel Cleary and Krizstián Adorján are available for the trip to Leeside.

Talking point: Home crowd is often an advantage in this fixture, Dundalk beating Cork in Oriel Park earlier in the season. City’s run of three successive wins and clean sheets is impressive but Dundalk have an attacking edge about them and strong away form. Dundalk to win.

Ref: Neil Doyle

Odds: Cork 19/10, Dundalk 29/20, Draw 11/5

Verdict: Away win

DERRY CITY v SHAMROCK ROVERS (Brandywell, 7.45)

Team news: Gavin Peers (suspension) and Ronan Hale (injury) are out for Derry City but Rory Patterson, Conor McDermott and Nathan Boyle could return for this Brandywell clash. Sean Boyd is absent for Rovers.

Talking point: Confidence is low at Rovers and with Derry’s home record so strong, it’s hard to see anything but a home win.

Ref: Derek Tomney

Odds: Derry 6/4, Rovers 19/10, Draw 21/10

Verdict: Home win

ST PATRICK’S ATH v BOHEMIANS (Richmond Park, 7.45)

Team news: Full squad for Saints, boosted by Killian Brennan’s first appearance of the season last week. Bohs have Paddy Kavanagh back from suspension and Oscar Brennan is fit again for the visitors, but Danny Grant, Derek Pender and Karl Moore will miss out.

Talking point: The Saints have improved defensively – back-to-back clean sheets prove that. They have already beaten Bohs this season, but the Gypsies have the potential to get a draw and end a two-game losing streak. Ref: Tomás Connolly

Odds: St Pat’s 10/11, Bohs 16/5, Draw 23/10

Verdict: Draw

WATERFORD v SLIGO ROVERS (RSC, 7.45)

Team news: David Cawley is banned for Sligo who have worries over Adam Morgan, Seamus Sharkey and Rhys McCabe. Waterford recall Stanley Aborah after suspension.

Talking point: Waterford had gone through a sticky spell, badly missing Bastien Hery, but they were clinical enough to dismiss Bray last week and can do the same here to a Sligo side who just can’t find their way to goal.

Ref: Robert Harvey

Odds: Waterford 20/23, Sligo 10/3, Draw 12/5

Verdict: Home win
