Pining for a house in the city suburbs

White Pines, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16

-

WHITE Pines is the latest addition to Rathfarnham, the south Dublin suburb that’s been among the most active in the country for new developments over the last three years.

The newest kid on the block is located on the northern end of Stocking Avenue and is aimed at both first-time buyers and potential trader-uppers.

There will eventually be 175 three, four and five-bed houses at White Pines when the scheme is completed by Ardstone Homes. Prices in the first phase start at €415,000 for a three-bed mid-terraced property and at

€470,000 for a four-bed end-ofterrace style, with 35 homes in all being released this weekend.

The three-bed homes have

1,087 sq ft of accommodation, an open-plan kitchen/diner with patio doors leading on to the garden. The four-bed end-ofterrace style is available in two different designs: type A, which has a regular front entrance, and type B, which has a gable entrance. Both styles extend over 1,399 sq ft. The facades are in a mix of redbrick and self-coloured render at the midterraced styles, with a full-brick front exterior to the end-ofterrace types.

All designs have NorDan AluClad windows and two designated parking spaces. Extra-high windows were fitted to each house to make the most of natural light, while the fitted kitchen from Nolan’s Kitchens comes with quartz worktops and an Electrolux appliances package. There are built-in wardrobes from Cawley’s Furniture, and Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware in the bathrooms. The A-rated homes are 5km from both Rathfarnham and Templeogue, and 7km from Dundrum Town Centre. There is a stop for the 15B bus route, which has 50 departures a day.

Three showhouses have been fitted out by Denise O’Connor of Optimise Design, the interior designer and architect known for RTE’s The Design Doctors series. Houses go on view for the first time tomorrow and Sunday, between 1pm and 4pm. Enquiries to: Sherry FitzGerald New Homes (01) 667 1888
