O’Kelly-Lynch secures victory for Sligo

GOALS proved to be the difference as Sligo emerged victorious on their visit to Old Bedians on Saturday.

Early first-half green flags from Ronan Crowley and JJ Dunphy had put the home side in a strong position, but Sligo were within a point at the break thanks to a brace of goals from Larry Cadden.

Dual star Gerard O’KellyLynch grabbed Sligo’s third goal and finished with a personal tally of 1-7.

In an end-to-end match Sligo’s fourth goal from Kevin Banks looked like being the key score as they went four points in front, but Crowley had other ideas and brought his side back level, only for O’Kelly-Lynch to knock over a super free to put Sligo back in front.

Crowley hit the sidenetting as Lancashire tried to hit back, before Declan Reidy made a great save to finally clinch victory for Sligo.
