McCann FitzGerald bolsters US service

IRISH law firm McCann FitzGerald is increasing its investment and reach in the US market.

As part of its investment the company has appointed senior associate Richard Gill to its New York office.

Mr Gill specialise­s in aviation and asset finance at the group, acting for a number of prominent operating lessors and financiers in the aviation industry including AerCap, Nordic Aviation Capital, Orix Aviation, and BOC Aviation.

Mr Gill advises clients on a wide variety of aviation and asset finance matters, including cross-border aircraft portfolio financings, export credit agency backed financings, aircraft sale and leaseback transactio­ns, capital market transactio­ns and debt restructur­ings.

He also has extensive experience drafting and negotiatin­g aircraft leasing, servicing, financing and security agreements, as well as advising clients in connection with the acquisitio­n and disposal of operating leasing companies.

Recently the company has been involved in a number of significan­t US-Ireland transactio­ns including acting for AerCap on four completed unsecured bond offerings with a total value of $3.55bn.
