‘If they want to go dancing, they could head for Dicey’s. Meghan knows the bouncers’

suite in The Shelbourne — although it’s unlikely that they’ll spend much time in There will be a strict itinerary to follow, and no time to spare. The Queen also visited the Guinness Storehouse during her official visit in 2011, so these two will probably skip the obligatory tourist trail visit to the home of the black stuff.

The former lifestyle blogger and her husband, the reformed lunatic, might choose to check out the Jameson Distillery instead. And after a couple of whiskies, they might just be in the mood for mischief.

Luckily, Ed Sheeran’s favourite bar, Hacienda, is nearby. They’ll have to press the buzzer to get inside this word-of-mouth establishment, but once they get the nod, they’ll enjoy the privacy that this pub offers. Who knows — Harry might even feel safe enough to re-enact his famous Vegas nudey dance.

They’ll be hungry at this point. Harry has made no secret of his love for fried chicken. Meghan, on the other hand, likes to eat clean. They’ll probably reach a compromise and book a table at Fade Street Social, where Meghan has eaten before.

However, they ought to make a pit-stop at Harry’s on the Green for preprandial cocktails and some silly selfies beside the signage.

It’s a shame the couple won’t be here for Forbidden Fruit. Their friend Idris Elba is DJing and could have got them guestlist. If they want to go dancing, they’ll likely head towards Dicey’s Garden on Harcourt Street. Meghan knows the bouncers.

They’ll be nursing hangovers the next day. Meghan likes to have an açaí bowl for breakfast so she’ll more than likely head to Eathos on Baggot Street which has a menu especially designed for clean-eaters. Harry can wait for her in the Burger King across the road.

They’ll probably want to get some exercise in too. They could work out in David Lloyd Leisure in Clonskeagh like Mel Gibson did when he paid us a visit, or they could go cycling in Phoenix Park like Beyoncé.

Otherwise, they might check out OSLO Health — the Pilates and yoga studio co-owned by our own Duchess, Amy Huberman.

Afterwards, they could meet the Queen of Ireland, Panti Bliss, for a tour of Capel Street and lunch in Brother Hubbard. With seasonal, locally-sourced food on the menu, it ticks all of Meghan’s boxes.

Dessert would have to be Camerino’s award-winning chocolate raspberry cheesecake brownies — the couple’s wedding cake designer Claire Ptak would no doubt give this Dublin bakery the royal seal of approval.

We crowned the Queen’s visit here in 2011 with a gala concert that included performances from The Chieftains, Westlife and Mary Byrne, as well as a fashion show that featured both British and Irish designers.

Harry and Meghan’s visit will be different. She’ll be providing us with a fashion show of Philip Treacy and Aquazzura and, with a bit of luck and a lot of Guinness, Harry might give us one of his performances.
