INM names O’Hagan to key board role
INDEPENDENT News and Media (INM) has appointed two new chairs to subcommittees of the group’s board, effective from May 31.
Fionnuala Duggan has been appointed to the Remuneration Committee, and will serve as chair of the committee - taking over from Len O’Hagan.
At the same time, Len O’Hagan has been appointed chair of the Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee, following the resignation of Terry Buckley, who stood down from the board last week.
It is set be a key role as INM engages with an effort by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) to have inspectors appointed by the High Court to examine the affairs of the company.
Seamus Taaffe took over as chair of the Audit & Risk Committee on April 19, which Len O’ Hagan had previously chaired. Following these changes, the company said it continued to meet the board and committee composition recommendations of the UK Corporate Governance Code.
The changes are the latest in a raft of board moves at INM.
Just over a week ago, INM, which publishes newspapers including the Irish Independent, announced that Terry Buckley was stepping down as a director with effect from May 31.
It followed the resignation of Paul Connolly from the board.
