University of Limerick’s (UL) graduate employment rate is consistently higher than the national average. It has an award-winning cooperative work experience programme, which forms an integral part of every degree course.

UL is a very welcoming university and last year was awarded University of Sanctuary status. The university’s unique ‘First Seven Week’ programme provides strong support to all incoming first year students as they join UL’s 14,000-strong student community.

UL offers some of the most innovative degrees in the country, including Law Plus (LM029) at the university’s award-winning School of Law. Law Plus students graduate with a law degree with the extra edge of their chosen add-on subject from a wide range of electives including psychology, sociology, languages and politics among others.

UL’s Engineering Common Entry course (LM115) allows its students to try a variety of engineering disciplines before deciding on the right path for them. It gives students an introductory first year before they specialise in either Design & Manufacture, Mechanical, Civil or Biomedical Engineering for the remaining three years of the degree. UL also offers the only Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering (LM077) in the Republic of Ireland.

The UL Biological and Chemical Sciences (LM123) degree gives students a broad overview of biology and chemistry in first year, then students choose to specialise in either Bioscience, Industrial Biochemistry, Environmental Science or Pharmaceutical and Industrial Chemistry for the next three years.

As well as offering a huge range of unique academic courses, UL strongly encourages the social and civic development of its students. Each year the President’s Volunteer Awards recognises the enormous contribution UL students make to local communities and organisations. UL also has a vast array of clubs and societies and has some of the country’s finest sporting facilities on its beautiful 366acre campus.
