LONGFORD
Drama takes centre stage in Ballymahon Community Library (10.30am) and again in Granard Community Library (2pm) with workshops by Hannah for 8-12 year olds.
Weather permitting, Ardagh Heritage and Creativity Centre will host an allday celebration of fairies and the myths of Midir and Etain. Create your own tree fairy, write a magical tale or get your face painted. All ages welcome.
On Friday, June 22nd and Saturday the 23rd, Edgeworthstown is alive with activity thanks to the work of Mostrim Youth Players. On the Friday, there will be an Open Mic Night at Edgeworthstown Community Centre, with over €200 in cash prizes to be won (12-18 years).
On Saturday the focus switches to workshops in drama, singing and dance and movement. To book these events, text only to 086-7333328. The workshops will be followed by a Mostrim Youth Players showcase ‘Cinders the Sequel’ at the community centre. All welcome.

KERRY
In Listowel a ‘Fighting Words’ Creative Writing Workshop for children aged 8-11 will take place at SeanchaíKerry Writers’ Museum 10am – 12 noon. Coinciding with Listowel Visual Arts Week, from 11.30am - 1.30pm, kids of all ages are invited to Pick Up a Brush in the main square and work with artists in creating a secret design. Balloon art workshops with Kenny the Clown will run at the Seanchaí Centre at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm, and a youth choral performance will take place at St. John’s Theatre at 12.30pm.
St. John’s is also the venue for a series of theatre, music and film workshops from 2-6pm. In Killarney, the South West Counselling and Kerry Arts Service are running Mandala art workshops from 11am – 2pm, and two artists in residence, writer Annemarie Ní Churreáin (inset left) and film-maker Mieke vanmechelen.
