Here come the girls: all-female syndicate behind Chicas Amigas heads to Ascot
THE all-woman racing syndicate ‘It’s All About The Girls’ are heading to Royal Ascot tomorrow hoping for victory with Chicas Amigas.
And naturally the bay filly is trained by a woman – queen of the Irish turf Jessica Harrington.
The syndicate is made up of 30 women with 20 shares and the line-up includes a movie producer, shipping heiress, a doctor, major fruit grower, lawyer, remedial school teacher, mothers, horse breeders, a senior steward of the Turf Club, an art collector and air craft leasing executive.
Well-known faces in the thoroughbred racing syndicate include Elaine Lawlor of Goffs, who co-founded the Irish element of the syndicate with Anna Seitz, Eimear Mulhern, chair of Goffs, Tamso Doyle of Baroda Stud, Caroline Keeling, EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, and Amber Byrne of Horse Racing Ireland, who facilitated formation of the syndicate.
