Actress Brigitte Nielsen gives birth aged 54 to her fifth child
ACTRESS Brigitte Nielsen has given birth aged 54 to her fifth child, her first daughter after four sons.
The ‘Red Sonja’ star confirmed to People.com that she and TV producer husband Mattia Dessi have welcomed a 5lb 9oz (2.52kg) girl named Frida.
She said: “We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives It’s been a long road, and so worth it. We’ve never been more in love.”
Dessi (39) is the Danish Italian actress’s fifth husband. She was previously married to her ‘Rocky IV’ costar Sylvester Stallone from 1985 to 1987.
Nielsen revealed she was pregnant last month with a post on Instagram showing off her bump and the caption: “Family getting larger”.
Nielsen initially made her name as a model before forging a career in Hollywood
Nielsen already has four adult sons: Raoul Meyer Jnr (23), Douglas Meyer (25), Killian Gastineau (28) and Julian Winding (34).
Born in Copenhagen in 1963, Nielson made her name as a model and worked with famous designers such as Versace and Armani.
Warrior
The 6ft 1in (1.85m) star was nicknamed “the Amazon” by US media and made her film debut starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as a female warrior in the 1985 film ‘Red Sonja’.
That same year, she also featured in ‘Rocky IV’ as the wife of protagonist Rocky Balboa’s nemesis, Ivan Drago, who was played by Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
