HOW YOUR JOURNEY MIGHT CHANGE
Under the new plan, some suburban passengers who don’t live close to the new ‘spines’ will be required to take more than one bus in order to access the city centre. The following are examples of how some journeys may change...
46A NO INTERCHANGE
The 46a runs from Dún Laoghaire in south Dublin to the city centre, via Stillorgan and Donnybrook before terminating in the city centre. Under the redesign, passengers leaving Dún Laoghaire would board the E2, which continues into the city centre, so no interchange would be required.
31 ONE INTERCHANGE
This runs from Howth to the city centre via Sutton, Raheny and Killester before terminating in the city centre. The 31 will be replaced by the N6, an orbital route. Passengers will continue along the N6 into Sutton and Raheny, before the bus goes north towards Artane. Passengers would disembark on the Malahide Road, and get a bus on the ‘D’ spine.
77A TWO INTERCHANGES
One of the busiest routes in the city from Ringsend to Citywest, passengers would board the W8 at Citywest, and continue to Tallaght before changing to the A2 or D2 spine. They would then change again on the ‘O’ route on the canals, before continuing to Ringsend.
