Zimbabweans sleep on streets in protest
ZIMBABWE’S rugby team slept on the streets in Tunisia in protest at the poor standard of hotel accommodation.
The side had travelled to the North African country for a World Cup qualifier against Tunisia and their protest came after they had been held at immigration for six hours.
The players were held up at the airport after the authorities said that they had to pay a visa fee of €20 each, the team captain Denford Mutamangira told Zimbabwean radio station Capitalk FM.
Rugby Africa and Tunisia Rugby Union issued an apology for the “unfortunate situation,” they said in a statement.
