Mayo’s O’Connor and Loftus head stateside

MAYO pair Diarmuid O’Connor and Conor Loftus are the latest intercounty stars to head stateside for the summer as they have signed for Chicago club McBrides.

The follow in the footsteps of Tipperary hurlers Patrick Maher, Cathal Barrett and Ronan Maher to head across the Atlantic after they signed with the Tipperary club in New York. Dublin duo Diarmuid Connolly and Shane Carthy as well as Carlow’s Brendan Murphy have already joined Donegal in Boston, while Tipp footballer Steven O’Brien is with Connemara Gaels.

Former Kilkenny star Michael Fennelly has joined Na Fianna in San Francisco as have Waterford’s DJ Foran, Mark O’Brien, Colin Dunford and Michael Kearney.
