Ballyliffin doing its best to keep fair ways green
THE European Tour is determined to avoid last month’s US Open disaster with Ballyliffin working hard to keep its fairways as green as possible.
General manager John Farren revealed that the club has been draining its well dry every day for weeks to make sure the course doesn’t become unplayable.
He said: “We have our own borehole. That’s been critical over the last six or seven weeks. It runs out every night and tops up. The course is probably a bit greener than you would expect for a links at this time of year.”
