Redesigned and refurnished penthouse goes on the market

HOLLYWOOD A-lister Colin Farrell once spent a couple of years living at Embassy Court, the high-end private apartment complex at Prince of Wales Terrace in Ballsbridge.

The apartments and penthouses that make up the exclusive development were rented out to deep-pocketed tenants after Twinlite built it in 2004.

In 2016, after the recession was over, the scheme was put on the market. The same year, Houzz, the international online bible for interior design and architecture, ranked 14 Embassy Court as the 25th most stylish penthouse apartment in the world.

Number 15, a three-bed penthouse, was the only unit not sold by the developers. It eventually went up for sale last summer for €1.795m, with the services of Phoenix Interior Design — the firm behind Number 14’s headline-grabbing makeover — to redesign and completely refurnish it costing an extra €70,000. That refurbishment and reconfiguration has since been carried out and the fully furnished penthouse is now selling for €2.1m.

The penthouse spans 1,882 sq ft — the size of many a new four-bed detached home — and comes with a large south-west facing, 200-sq ft terrace, a basement storage lock-up, and two parking spaces in the underground car park.

It has its own private lobby, a double-height living area, a new kitchen, a separate dining room, a family bathroom, a mezzanine level that can be used for entertaining as a second reception room or as a home office, and three bedrooms, one of which is en suite. The handmade blackened ash kitchen is fitted with Liebherr and Miele appliances, and the bathroom and en suite have floor-to-ceiling tiling.

The prospective resident will be able to open the gates and carpark from their smartphone and even hire a dedicated maid service for cleaning and laundry.
