Rise in crime fears

THOSE who reported crimes to gardaí in the first three months of the year were less satisfied with the force than last year, a survey has said.

While few people surveyed felt local crime was a serious problem, there was an increase in fears of national crime, with 74pc saying it was very serious or a serious problem. Trust in gardaí was at 88pc.
