Climate Action Fund applications now open

COMMUNICATIONS, Climate Action and Environment Minister Denis Naughten will today launch the first call for applications under the Government’s new €500m Climate Action Fund (CAF).

The CAF aims to support initiatives from the public and private sector that will help Ireland reach its climate and energy targets. The deadline for applications is October 1 this year. The €500m fund forms part of the new national development plan.

Mr Naughten said the fund is “about turning innovative ideas into climate action and using this fund to support larger scale projects that would otherwise not be developed without this support from Government”.

The competition for funds is open to State agencies, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, local government, as well as private enterprises.
