‘FEDEL’ MARCH ON

-

TEN years on from the greatest of all Wimbledon finals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal forged on towards a possible rematch in five days’ time.

Even at a combined age of 68, noone can lay a glove on the game’s ‘Big Two’. Certainly not Adrian Mannarino and Jiri Vesely, who both fell by the wayside yesterday.

‘Fedal’ – as they are collectively known – have yet to drop a set. They have also spent no more than 14 hours on court between them, which adds up to an average match time of just 1 hour 45 minutes.

The defending champion made it 32 straight sets won at the All England Club with a 6-0 7-5 6-4 victory over Mannarino to reach the last eight for the 16th time, while Nadal breezed into his first quarter-final for seven years by beating Vesely 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.
