Burns makes move to Ulster

-

ULSTER have confirmed the signing of former Gloucester out-half Billy Burns, as the 24-year old looks to fill the void left by Paddy Jackson.

Burns, who is Irish-qualified via a paternal grandparent, has represented England at under-age level, and has joined Ulster on a two-year contract.

With Danny Cipriani joining Gloucester this summer, speculation had been mounting about Burns’ future with the club for whom he represented more than 100 times.

“This is a great opportunity for me to take the next step in my career and I’m very grateful to Gloucester for supporting me,” Burns said.

“The Ulster squad is brimming with established and developing talent, and it will be exciting for me to challenge myself in a different environment.”
