Critical Jesuits could ‘do more’
■ At a recent meeting of the Jesuit Refugee Service, it was said that “Ireland must do more” to help refugees.
I suggest the Jesuits look out their windows at Milltown Park in Dublin at lands they own, or turn one of the many rugby pitches at Clongowes Wood College into a building site for some housing.
They could even build a hospital there, too.
Parents of the boys attending might not welcome thousands of refugees wandering around.
The Jesuits are a very wealthy order, with lands all over Ireland, so now all they need is to persuade the Government to allow more immigrants to arrive.
One Jesuit told me when I was nine that England was a “pagan country”.
Pagan or not, I have been very happy here for over 40 years.
