Connacht snap up Melbourne flanker

-

CONNACHT have bolstered their back-row options with the signing of former Australia U-20 captain Colby Fainga’a. The 27-year old joins from the Melbourne Rebels, where he has been for the last four years.

New boss Andy Friend, who gave Fainga’a his Super Rugby debut with the Brumbies, said: “In addition to his versatility on the field he has a fantastic attitude off it and will be a big addition.”

Friend confirmed he will be sticking to the 2017 game plan, while making some small tweaks.

“We have got to be a team that believes in our systems and backs ourselves and plays,” said Friend. “I know the systems of the current coaches have been put in place and I’m here to support that.”
