TONIGHT’S GAMES

- — AIDAN FITZMAURICE

BRAY WANDERERS v CORK CITY (Carlisle Grounds, 7.45)

Team news: Kevin Lynch rejoins the Bray squad after suspension. Conor McCarthy and Colm Horgan are missing for Cork through injury, Achille Campion has left the club.

Talking point: Can new Bray owner Niall O’Driscoll lift the air of doom and gloom around the Wicklow club? O’Driscoll has plans to strengthen ties with the local community and hopefully the only way is up for the Seagulls after a fraught campaign. On the pitch, last week’s 6-0 loss away to Bohs was a low point, and they know they are in for a tough night against a Cork side who have already had two 4-0 wins over Wanderers this season. While fans will be hoping O’Driscoll’s positivity can quickly transfer to the pitch, it might not happen this evening.

Referee: Paul McLaughlin

Odds: Bray 22/1, Cork 1/10, Draw 17/2 Verdict: Away win

DERRY CITY v ST PATRICK’S ATH (Brandywell, 7.45)

Team news: Derry recall Rory Hale from suspension but Nicky Low is still absent. Pat’s have Kevin Toner available again, with Chris Fagan out long-term. Talking point: A busy fixture list is starting to catch up with Derry and their home form has been poor of late but new signings are bedding in and they can hope for a draw here at least.

Referee: Rob Harvey

Odds: Derry 29/20, Pat’s 17/10, Draw 5/2 Verdict: Draw

LIMERICK v WATERFORD (Markets Field, 7.45)

Team news: Cian Coleman is available for the Blues but Eoin Wearen is an injury doubt, with John Martin an injury concern for Waterford.

Talking point: Four defeats in the last five games shows that Limerick’s problems are not just financial ones. They have battled well in the face of adversity but the away side will expect a win here to boost their European hopes. Referee: Damien MacGraith

Odds: Limerick 9/2, Waterford 8/13, Draw 14/5

Verdict: Away win SHAMROCK RVS v SLIGO RVS (Tallaght Stadium, 8.0, eir Sport) Team news: Joey O’Brien, Ethan Boyle and Seán Kavanagh are doubts for the home side, with Gavin Bazunu and Seán Boyd definitely out. Sligo recall Caolan McAleer and Patrick McClean from bans but Adam Morgan and Gary Boylan are out through injury.

Talking point: A third straight away game, all in Dublin, for Sligo and despite a two-week rest they could struggle here. They have frustrated the Hoops this season, including a 0-0 draw in May, but the Hoops defence can hold firm. Referee: Rob Rogers

Odds: Hoops 8/13, Sligo 5/1, Draw 13/5 Verdict: Home win
