St James’s Hospital in Dublin treated a phenomenal 400,000 patients last year, and this year the figure is expected to be even higher. Last winter, during one of the hospital’s busiest periods, documentar­y cameras were allowed behind the scenes in the hospital to chart the experience­s of several patients, including a 31-year-old mother of two who’s been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
