St James’s Hospital in Dublin treated a phenomenal 400,000 patients last year, and this year the figure is expected to be even higher. Last winter, during one of the hospital’s busiest periods, documentary cameras were allowed behind the scenes in the hospital to chart the experiences of several patients, including a 31-year-old mother of two who’s been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
