IN the affluent estuary village of Malahide, the Whitegables development has been appealing to locals eager to trade up from older properties to an A-rated home that’s easier and cheaper to maintain.
The scheme of 21 houses on the Swords Road, near the junction with Estuary Road, is being developed by Greenleaf Homes with the backing of Warren Private.
The first phase of 17 houses was launched in November 2016 and all have since sold. The selling agents opened a showhouse last weekend to market the scheme’s final four homes. Three of the four-bed semi-detached homes, which each have 1,881 sq ft of accommodation spread out across three floors, were reserved by Monday. As a result, just the showhouse and its contents are still available and are selling for €750,000.
The facade of the showhouse is dominated by brick, with reconstituted stone to the reveals and windowsills. To the rear, double doors lead out from an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area to a west-facing garden. There are three double bedrooms (one en suite) on the first floor, and a master bedroom, with walk-in wardrobes and an en-suite, on the second floor.
Each bathroom features contemporary-style sanitaryware, tiling to the floors and part of the walls, vanity units, and heated towel rails. The contemporary-style kitchen is fitted with quartz worktops and integrated Neff appliances.
The A-rated home has solar panels, a gas-fired central heating system and a mechanical ventilation/heat recovery system.
Viewings at Whitegables will continue tomorrow and Sunday, between 11am and 1pm.
