Nolan strike keeps Bohs U-19s in the hunt

-

EUROPEAN ROUND-UP: THE Bohemians U-19 side will travel back from Denmark in good spirits today after a late away goal kept their hopes of progress in the UEFA Youth League alive despite their 2-1 defeat.

Craig Sexton’s team were in a bit of bother in the first leg of their tie with FC Midtjylland when the hosts doubled their advantage with 15 minutes remaining – Casper Tengstedt’s effort adding to Oliver Olsen’s early opener.

But the Dubliners bounced back and Steven Nolan popped up with a valuable goal just two minutes later. It sets up an interesting decider in Dalymount Park on Wednesday, October 24.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain got their Champions League campaign back on track with a 6-1 home rout of Serbian side Red Star Belgrade as Brazil star Neymar lit up a lop-sided Group C clash with a hat-trick.

Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani and France World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe added a goal each as the French champions ripped into 1991 European Cup winners Red Star, who were spared a heavier defeat by goalkeeper Milan Borjan.

Borussia Dortmund made it two wins from two with a comfortable victory over struggling Monaco.

The Bundesliga leaders are level with Atletico Madrid at the top of Group A after a 3-0 victory at the Westfalenstadion, with all the goals coming in the second half.

Half-time substitute Jacob Bruun Larsen made the breakthrough in the 51st minute, Paco Alcacer scored the second in the 72nd minute soon after missing a penalty and Marco Reus added a third in stoppage time.

Inter Milan came from a goal down to take three points away to PSV Eindhoven. Pablo Rosario opened the scoring in the 27th minute but Radja Nainggolan equalised just before the break and Mauro Icardi struck the winner on the hour mark.
