Mick eyes Order of Merit crown
EVOLVE Golf Coaching’s Michael McGeady has a slim 168-point lead over Tulfarris Golf Resort’s Simon Thornton in the PGA Ireland Region Order of Merit with one week to go before the money title in decided.
The Derry man tops the list with 21,903 points from 20 events but with Thornton, Glasson’s Colm Moriarty and Waterville’s David Higgins all within 1,456 points of him, the honour of topping the Order of Merit is very much up for grabs.
While Dubai Duty Free Irish Open spots are no longer awarded to the leading money winners, there is still a lot at stake ahead of next week’s final-counting, 54-hole PGA Irish Championship at Galway Bay Golf Resort, where the winner will take home €3,600 from the €24,000 prize fund.
The leading three players from the Order of Merit will be exempt for the PGA Play-Offs on the PGA Sultan Course in Turkey from November 21-23. PGA Ireland Region Order of Merit
