Sport Ireland join call for reforms

-

SPORT IRELAND have joined 17 other nations in calling for reform of WADA following the outcry over their decision to reinstate Russia.

The leaders of 18 national anti-doping associations met at a summit in Paris where they expressed “solidarity” with athletes who have voiced concern at last month’s decision by the world body to reinstate the Russian AntiDoping Agency.

“This was an important meeting for the global fight against doping in sport. It was our first since the shocking decision by WADA’s executive committee to reinstate Russia,” Sport Ireland chief executive John Treacy said.
