Antrim firm supplies 88 buses to south
A BUS manufacturer in Northern Ireland has sold nearly 90 single-decker buses to Transport For Ireland (TFI) over the last year in deals thought to be worth tens of millions of pounds.
Co Antrim manufacturer Wrightbus manufactured 88 of its Streetlite vehicles for the public transport body and is one of its main suppliers of buses.
TFI said the buses were now being delivered and put into service. Some are being used under a contract with private operator Go-Ahead.
A new Irish arm of the UK transport giant last year won a tender to operate around 10pc of the bus network in Dublin, and will also operate some services in Co Kildare. Go-Ahead buses made by Wrightbus started on Dublin routes on October 21.
