That’s rich coming from our well-paid President

I CAN scarcely express my delight on learning our new-old President, Michael D Higgins, has declared he will now focus on creating “a republic of equality”.

The President himself is given – to say nothing of the really massive perks – in excess of three hundred grand per annum; so that I can only say to him that I wish him every imaginable success in realising his very exciting – if indeed from a declared socialist, somewhat overdue – goal as soon as at all possible!
