Students face tough trip in search of first victory

UCC will hope for their first All-Ireland League Division 1A win of the season when they make the daunting trip to face Shannon at Thomond Park tomorrow.

The Cork side came so close last weekend but fell to 18-17 defeat to Terenure College. They are second from bottom while Shannon are fourth.

Cork Con lost 35-27 at Lansdowne, and they’ll want to bounce back when they host Garryowen. Young Munster host Lansdowne at Tom Clifford Park.

Cashel are at home to Nenagh Ormond in the Friday derby at Spafield in Division 2A. A win for Cashel puts them top.

Dolphin host Galwegians at Irish Independen­t Park tomorrow. UL Bohs travel for a clash with Navan and Old Crescent face Highfield in the other derby in Rosbrien.

In 2B, Sunday’s Well go to MU Barnhall. And in the bottom tier leaders Midleton clash with Malahide, Thomond are at Ballina and Bruff host Seapoint.
