-

GAVIN MOYNIHAN heads an 11-strong Irish challenge at the Second Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School in Spain today.

The former Walker Cup star, who earned his card at last year’s Final Stage, joins Jonathan Caldwell, Luke Donnelly, Gary Hurley and Kevin Phelan at Desert Springs in Almería.

Ruaidhri McGee and Cameron Raymond go at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club in Alicante, while Conor O’Rourke is in action at nearby Alenda Golf.

Robin Dawson, Neil O’Briain and Cormac Sharvin are in action at El Encin Golf Hotel in Alcala De Henares near Madrid with around 18 players to progress from each venue to the 108-hole Final Stage battle for at least 25 cards at Lumine Golf Club in Tarragona from November 10-15.

The top 70 after 72 holes qualify for the final two rounds in Tarragona with the leading 25 and ties after two further rounds earning Tour cards.
