Curry loss may force Jones into England reshuffle

- Nigel Whittaker

ENGLAND’S Tom Curry has been ruled out for the rest of the November internationals, with the flanker needing to see a specialist to determine whether or not he needs surgery on the ankle injury he suffered during last Saturday’s 12-11 victory over South Africa.

The loss of Curry robs England of one of their automatic picks in the pack and could prompt Eddie Jones into a reshuffle.

Sam Underhill would be the obvious replacement, with the Bath flanker returning to the camp this week after missing out on the squad that beat South Africa.

But, with Courtney Lawes now back in full training after recovering from a back injury, Jones could move Maro Itoje to blindside flanker. That would mean Brad Shield switching to No 8 and Mark Wilson to openside flanker.

Manu Tuilagi is poised to be named on the England bench after recovering from the minor groin strain that prevented him from making his first international appearance in two years last Saturday.
