ST HELEN’S Adamstown, Co Dublin Asking price: From €295,000 Agent: Savills (New Homes), (01) 618 1300 or Leahy Residential (01) 601 1800

ST HELEN’S in Adamstown, the first planned town since Shannon was built in the 1960s, has remained one of the few developments that offer first-time buyers new-builds at prices under the €300,000-mark within the confines of Co Dublin.

The west Dublin scheme was launched last year to target purchasers priced out of locations closer to the city centre. St Helen’s will consist of 135 properties bound by two parks when it is eventually finished. The latest release, which comes on stream this weekend, comprises just five houses, all from a brand-new house type.

The new homes are two-storey, three-bed terraced properties, each measuring 1,001 sq ft and costing from €295,000. The style, billed as a starter home, has a living room up front, a kitchen-diner to the rear with patio doors, a separate utility room, under-stairs storage, and a guest WC. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, and a family bathroom.

There is a brick and render exterior to the traditional-style houses, and the high-performance PVC windows are double-glazed. St Helen’s is about 750m from Adamstown train station. The show house for the new house type will open tomorrow from 12pm to 1pm.
