Selby hits out at Hearn over no prize for 147
MARK SELBY has openly criticised the lack of prize money on offer for hitting a 147 at this week’s Champion of Champions tournament in Coventry. The World No 1 hit only the third maximum of his career yesterday – a brilliant clearance in what ultimately proved out to be a losing cause against Neil Robertson. Selby hit out at the sport’s chief Barry Hearn after, tweeting: “Just thinking what to spend the money on... oh no, I just get a clap, you must be struggling at the moment Barry Hearn. #Timesarehard.” Hearn responded, saying: “No but I’m clapping!”
