PGA Benevolent Fund Dinner set for December 10

-

PGA professionals provide vital services for golf clubs but they also need help when times are tough and rely on the PGA Benevolent Fund for fundraising and donations.

Established at the founding of The PGA in 1901, the PGA Benevolent Fund is a charity that assists members in hardship or distress and remains an important element of The PGA’s work.

One of the nine principles in the PGA’s “Raising our Game” project, the Fund is constantly seeking ways to raise more money to help professional golfers who might find themselves in difficulties, often due to health issues.

As a result, the Golfer’s Guide to Ireland Annual Awards presentation will be made in association with the PGA Benevolent Fund Awards Dinner at Druid’s Glen Hotel and Golf Resort on Monday, 10 December.

The 2018 achievements and distinctions of PGA professionals will be recognised on the night with the proceeds of the evening going towards the PGA Benevolent Fund.

Awards include ‘5 Star Professional’, Coach of the Year, Player of the Year. Trainee of the Year, the Toby Sunderland Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Development Award.

The awards are sponsored by Tipperary Crystal with Alken Wines providing the wine that will be served at dinner.

Tables for as many as ten people are available at €100 per person, and interested parties or individuals can help the PGA Benevolent Fund by reserving their places.

Reservations can be made by emailing michael. mccumiskey@pga.org.uk or gavin.kavanagh@gmail.com.

Payment can be made by cheque or by calling the PGA in Ireland office at 042 932 1193 with credit card details.
