30 new jobs: Renault GAA deal; 3.39m car tyres, Yaris GR Sport

-

A MAJOR motoring company is creating 30 new jobs as part of significant expansion.

Well-known Frank Keane BMW is rolling out a substantial recruitment campaign in line with plans to expand its BMW and MINI operations at its Naas Road outlet.

The business is investing in facilities and staff to meet anticipated customer demand for electric, hybrid and e-mobility services.

A new facility will allow for further servicing capacity, vehicle storage, customer car parking and electric charging facilities.

The “extensive recruitment drive” already under way, and those lucky enough to be chosen will be given comprehensive training.

Hand-in-hand with that goes the opportunity to progress their careers in positions in sales, after-sales, management, marketing, administration and more.

All levels of motor technicians (from apprentices to qualified technicians), service advisers and warranty administrators are being sought as part of the campaign.

Renault here will be the official car partner of the GAA and Gaelic Players’ Association (GPA) for the next three years.

That is as well as being title sponsor of the 2019 GAA World Games.

Current brand ambassadors include Alan Brogan, Marc Ó Sé, Dessie Dolan, Mick Galwey and Clare hurling captain Anthony Daly.

The brand has been county sponsor for Westmeath senior and minor football and hurling teams since 2014.

Congratulations to all at Highland Motors on being chosen as the Citroën Ireland Aftersales Dealer of the Year for 2018.

The people at Repak End of Life Tyres (ELT) say 2,800 tyre outlets have signed up to the scheme during the past 12 months.

The tyre compliance scheme, approved by government, is a year in operation.

During that time, more than 3.39 million car tyres have been sold on the Irish market.

Over the same period, a total of 3.33 million waste car tyres were collected and sent to recovery and recycling.

The results have outstripped industry targets.

The new Toyota Yaris GR Sport has just gone on sale here, obviously for 191 purchase.

“Inspired” by the Yaris GRMN and Gazoo Racing, it is “exclusively” available as a 1.5-litre hybrid. Prices start from €23,700.
