All the new or revised cars on their way here for the 191-reg plate and beyond

ALFA ROMEO: On the market now is the Stelvio 2.9 V6 bi-turbo 510hp AWD Quadrifoglio (€118,795); also freshened Giulietta line-up. They are absorbing the diesel VRT increase on Giulia and Stelvio.

AUDI: New A6 saloon (from €51,650 on-the-road) is on sale. Revised Q3 is a 191-reg too (petrol, diesel engines, front-wheel or quattro options). Second-gen compact A1 is here too.

The new electric e-tron SUV arrives in the spring. Price, including a 4-year service plan, starts from €101,750 on-the-road.

BMW: Its new 2019 models include the X5, 8-series Coupe (convertible arriving in the second quarter), the excellent 3-series and Z4 (from €50,420 expected in March). And a heavily revised 7-series is due.

CITROEN: They have the new Berlingo van just here; the Berlingo itself and the C5 Aircross

SUV arrive in March.

DS: The new DS7 Crossback will launch in March and a new small SUV, DS 3 Crossback, is due for a bit later too.

DACIA: The new Duster starts at €17,390. The Sandero and Logan MCV have been updated.

FIAT: The new 500X has been updated inside and out; first Fiat model to have the brand’s new turbo engines.

FORD: All-new electric vehicle and new Kuga by year’s end.

The Mustang Bullitt is here with a 5-litre V8 (464PS). Priced from €73,000. The Mondeo hybrid estate is due next month. The Focus Active is due soon with 1.5 litre diesel and 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engines. High-performance variant of the current Ranger, the Raptor, will have a bi-turbo version of Ford’s diesel with 213hp when it arrives in June.

HONDA: The new CR-V hybrid arrives next month and will cost from €38,000.

It has a 2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack to pump 184PS.

The front-wheel drive model has emissions of 120g/km and official average (combined) fuel economy of 5.3l/100km (53.3mpg).

The all-wheel drive version’s figures are 126g/km and 5.5 l/100km (51.4 mpg). I’ve already driven this abroad and it works well. It will be interesting to see public reaction to it. The CR-V’s arrival coincides with the 50th birthday of a key Honda outlet in Dublin. So best wishes to all at Clonskeagh Motors. HYUNDAI: Lot of interest in the Kona electric with its 64Kwh battery (482km range). It costs from €35,995.

Hyundai have a lot of up-specced cars, including the evergreen sales-topping Tucson. JAGUAR/LAND ROVER: A facelifted XE is scheduled with hybrid technology featuring.

The new Range Rover Evoque will arrive for 192-plate.

There is now a new Discovery Commercial as a 2-seater model from €43,367 (ex-delivery and excluding VAT at €9,974).

JEEP: The Renegade gets a new look and engine line-up and is due from March. The new Wrangler will come as a 2dr and 4dr.

KIA: The new Proceed, a shooting-brake version of the new Ceed has the new 1.4-litre direct injection 140bhp petrol initially.

The eNiro electric vehicle is due in the spring; some advance models will arrive for March road testing. Choice of two batteries: 485kms (64kw) or 312 kms (39.2Kw). Also coming around the same time is the new Soul EV.

LEXUS: The new ES 300h midsize executive goes on sale soon (see Page One). RC 300h coupe updated and on sale (see Page One also). Brand’s first compact crossover, the UX 200h, gets here in March: (€39,500).

MAZDA: They’re looking forward to the arrival of the 7th generation Mazda3 from April. There will be a 4dr and 5dr; 2-litre petrol, 1.8 diesel and the new Skyactiv-X engine. They claim the latter has the fuel efficiency and torque of a diesel and significantly reduced Co2 emissions. CX-5 gets a few early-year changes. They will also have a limited 30th anniversary version of the MX-5.

MERCEDES: Eight new, and seven face-lifted models due this year. They include petrol mild hybrids, petrol/diesel plug-ins and EQC electric mid-size SUV (420km range).

Arriving February/March are the new A-Class saloon and B-Class. April/May/June: New CLA, CLA Shooting Brake and GLE (with 7-seat option). V-Class due a facelift. Also due around then is the EQC. July/September: new GLS expected. Facelifted GLC Coupé and SUV models in July. October/December: new GLB mid-size SUV arrives (slots below the GLC).

AMG: The A45 and A45 S are expected Q1 as are GLC 43 and 63 SUV and GLE 53 SUV, GT facelift. The GLC 43 Coupe and GLC 63 Coupe are due Q2. The AMG CLA 35 and 45 Coupe are Q2 arrivals; so is the AMG A35 saloon.

MITSUBISHI: Updated Outlander PHEV on the market. New L200 will in September.

MINI: Emphasis will be on performance with the MINI Electric due later this year. Countryman Hybrid also expected.

OPEL: New Corsa due later as a 5dr; electric version by 2020. Also ‘later in 2019’ will be the Grandland X plug-in hybrid and the next generation Vivaro.

NISSAN: Longer range (330km-350km) 60kw LEAF is a Q2 arrival; also here are the new 1.3-litre and 1.7 PET Qashqai powered models. New 1-litre petrol in the Micra. Expect a new Juke.

PEUGEOT: New 508 large-family fastback has arrived ahead of schedule. It costs from €32,400. The new Rifter, replacement for the Partner Tepee MPV, has arrived as has the new Partner.

RENAULT: The Clio has been updated with an all-turbo engine

range. The 0.9 TCe comes with 75hp or 90hp. Prices from €16,390. Captur benefits from a facelift and more spec. The Mégane 1.5 dCi diesel is upped to 115hp; there’s a new 1.3 TCe 140hp in most versions.

Both Kadjar and Scénic get the new 1.3 TCe petrol. Diesel versions of the former will have the upgraded 1.5 dCi 115 engine, while the Scénic will get a new 1.7 dCi engine. SEAT: The Tarraco large SUV is imminent - early February. The sub-brand CUPRA is also being rolled out. SKODA: The KODIAQ RS is a January registration (2.0TDI 240hp, 4x4 and DSG gearbox) promising serious performance.

The SCALA (Rapid successor) is due by summer. Expect pricing around the €19,000 mark. Petrol TSi engines to range from 95hp to 150hp; there will be a 1.6TDI 115hp diesel. SUZUKI: The facelifted Vitara rolled out here tomorrow; 1.0 and

1.4 Boosterjet engines.

TESLA: They expect right-hand drive production of the Model 3 cars by mid-2019.

TOYOTA: Stunning new Supra here mid year.

The RAV4 hybrid (2.5) is here. Corolla hatchback ‘here’ too with 1.8 hybrid and 2.0 hybrid powertrains. Also a 1.2T petrol. Hybrid from €26,370. Corolla Touring Sport Hybrid (estate) due third week of February (1.8 and 2.0 hybrid). From €28,420. Corolla saloon hybrid also third week of February; 1.8 hybrid powertrain. Hybrid prices from €26,820. Camry 2.5 hybrid is due by April; from €39,750. Some minor changes to the Prius (from €32,250).

VOLKSWAGEN: The first of the electric ID. range will debut by the end of 2019 and go on sale in 2020. Models will have ranges of between 330kms and 550kms with fast-charging of up to 125kW.

Their smallest crossover, the T-Cross, arrives in April. Two petrol engines initially, both 1.0-litre TSI (95hp, 115hp). Expect a 95bhp 1.6-litre diesel too.

The GTi TCR (Touring Car Racing) is due early this year. It pumps ‘around 290hp’. €48,000 or so. Passat gets a facelift for 192. A revised GTE version also on the cards.

VOLVO: New S60 from April (T5 petrol); T4 petrol, T8 Twin Engine Hybrid and T6 Twin Engine hybrid follow for 192. Refreshed XC90 due for 192 (D5 and T8 Twin power).
