U-20s and women ring the changes

-

IRELAND U-20s head coach Noel McNamara has made one enforced change to his starting XV for tomorrow’s trip to Scotland.

Influential scrum-half and vicecaptain Craig Casey picked up a knee injury in last week’s stunning win over England at Irish Independent Park and is awaiting results from a scan to determine the extent of the damage.

Having suffered injuries to both knees in the past, the Limerick native will hope it is nothing serious. His place is taken by Cormac Foley, who made an impressive try-scoring cameo from the bench last week.

The team is again captained by David Hawkshaw who has shaken off his own leg injury to start, while Luke Masters and Colm Reilly will be hoping to win their first caps from the bench.

Meanwhile, the Ireland Women have made four changes for their clash at Scotstoun tomorrow.

There is a welcome recall on the left wing for Ali Miller, who takes the place of Megan Williams, who drops to the bench.

Emma Hooban makes her first start of the tournament and is named at hooker, which means a switch to tighthead for Leah Lyons, while Anna Caplice comes into the back-row.

Loosehead Lindsay Peat and scrumhalf Nicole Cronin again miss out through injury.
