ROSS CANNING secured back-toback European indoor promotions for Three Rock Rovers in dramatic style as his strike inside the last 90 seconds nicked the draw they needed in Oslo.

Rovers topped their initial EuroHockey Indoor Challenge I group with a big 8-1 win over Bologna, a result they took with them into the promotion pool.

A 5-3 loss to eventual champions AD Lousada meant they needed to draw or better against Scotland’s Inverleith but in a gripping, end to-end encounter the Dubliners trailed three times before Canning’s goal, which made him top scorer, secured second place and a ticket to the second tier of European Hockey.
