Mullane shines for Longford

-

LONGFORD overcame a dogged Fermanagh challenge in a dour affair at Brewster Park yesterday.

Cathal Mullane led the way for the visitors, accounting for 1-8 of his side’s scores.

Fermanagh finished with 13 men, as JP McGarry and Shea Curran received their marching orders.

Longford took control of the game, but the home side gave themselves some hope.

Curran was quickest to react to score and leave it 1-4 to 0-12 at half-time, while Mullane got a lucky goal from a free from 50 metres, which deflected off the keeper’s stick.

Fermanagh kept battling, with sub Jimmy Tormey finding the net.
