SHAMROCK RVS v DUNDALK

(Tallaght Stadium, 8.0)

Team news: Aaron Greene is suspended for Rovers, Ethan Boyle is out through injury but Dylan Watts should be fit. Patrick McEleney and Robbie Benson are out for Dundalk and Seán Murray is unlikely to be fit.

Talking point: The loss of striker Greene is a blow for Rovers as Dundalk also cope with missing players. An important game for both clubs even at this early stage. Ref: P McLaughlin

Odds: Rovers 13/5, Dundalk 5/4, draw 19/10

Verdict: Draw

CORK CITY v DERRY CITY (Turner’s Cross, 7.45)

Team news: Cork’s Matthew Gillam and Alan Bennett are definitely out and Gearóid Morrissey, Graham Cummins and Karl Sheppard are concerns, but new signing Dan Smith could make his home debut. Derry recall Jamie McDonagh from suspension; new arrival Gianni Sarif is in the squad.

Talking point: Derry conceded nine goals in two visits to Cork last season and while this Cork side are still finding their feet, pressure is already on after a home defeat to Waterford last week.

Ref: R Rogers

Odds: Cork 4/6, Derry 9/2, draw 13/5 Verdict: Home win UCD v ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC

(Belfield Bowl, 7.45)

Team news: Evan Osam and Kevin Coffey are out for UCD and captain Gary O’Neill is a doubt. Dean Clarke is the main concern for Pat’s who may recall Ian Bermingham. Odds: UCD 5/1, Pats 4/7, draw 11/4 Verdict: Draw

FINN HARPS v SLIGO ROVERS

(Finn Park, 8.0)

Team news: Harry Ascroft and Mark Timlin are absent for Harps, defender Sam Todd a doubt, and Sam Verdon has this week left the club. Sligo are without Regan Donelon due to a hamstring problem, and Johnny Dunleavy and Ronan Coughlan are concerns.

Talking point: Two points from the last two games is an achievement for a well-organised Harps side as Dundalk and St Pat’s struggled to create much against them. Ref: D Tomney

Odds: Harps 6/4, Sligo 2/1, draw 21/10

Verdict: Draw

WATERFORD v BOHEMIANS

(RSC, 7.45) Team news: Kevin Lynch is the main injury worry for Waterford. Bohs are still without Michael Barker and Promise Onochere but Kevin Devaney could return. Talking point: Three wins from three is an unexpected start from Bohs, but the Gypsies had a dismal record against the Blues last year. Ref: R Hennessy Odds: Waterford 11/8, Bohs 21/10, draw 21/10

Verdict: Away win
