Keep up with the Joyces near Clongowes for €375,000

SOME of James Joyce’s early years were spent on the plains of north Kildare, where, from the age of six, he attended Clongowes Wood College, the Jesuit boarding school near Clane.

Just off the town’s College Road, less than 2km from the school that featured in Joyce’s semi-autobiographical novel A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man, sits a scheme called Aughamore, which derives its name from the Irish for “big plain”.

The living room fireplace comes with an electric fire inset. Aughamore is a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Clane, which is 32km from Dublin along the M4.
