I am clueless as to how ‘Game of Thrones’ ends but it’ll be done in style, says ‘Littlefinger’ Gillen
AIDAN GILLEN is “clueless” about how the final series of ‘Game of Thrones’ will end, but is sure it will do so “in style”.
The Dubliner’s character, Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish, was killed off in season seven so he is experiencing the final season from a different perspective.
“I’m clueless,” he said of who will claim the Iron Throne. “There’s 10/1 on Paddy Power on Petyr Baelish being the ultimate victor in ‘Game of Thrones’. What’s that about?”
He added: “To be able to finish this off at all is going to be quite a task. I don’t doubt they can do it in some style and some surprising and stunning fashion so let’s hope that’s what happens.”
Since filming wrapped on the hit HBO fantasy series, Gillen (50) has had a starring role in History’s well-received sci-fi series ‘Project Blue Book’ and he is making a tentative foray into the world of music, alongside his partner of four years, singer Camille O’Sullivan (44).
The couple have recorded a version of Roy Orbison’s ‘In Dreams’, which has just been released on vinyl and iTunes, to raise funds for homeless charity Focus Ireland.
O’Sullivan is headlining the ‘Sunday Independent’s’ Rock Against Homelessness concert, also in aid of Focus Ireland, at the Olympia Theatre on Tuesday. It also boasts Finbar Furey, Jerry Fish, Deirdre O’Kane and more.
While O’Sullivan feels “helpless” about the homeless crisis, she hopes the single and concert will not only raise funds for, but also raise awareness of, Focus Ireland, and its need for continued contributions to help alleviate the crisis for the thousands affected.
“There’s a 100pc increase in homeless families recorded in the last two years which I guess is a result of the economic downturn combined with the lack of rental properties, the lack of available social housing, the lack of Government investment in social housing and increased demand for places most people can’t afford,” said Gillen.
