Live your best life in the estate formerly known for Westlife
The Drumnigh Wood estate in Portmarnock, Co Dublin, has been in the headlines unusually often for a quiet and respectable suburb in north county Dublin.
Built in the height of the Celtic Tiger era, it soon became famous for having become apparently the address of choice for boy bands. It was once the home of both Brian McFadden and Nicky Byrne of Westlife, as well as Boyzone’s Ronan Keating.
It’s a gated estate that includes some 5,000 sq ft mansions which have changed hands in recent years for six-figure sums.
No30 is a comparatively more modest house towards the back of the development, which was extensively renovated back in 2016 and consequently is looking nice and fresh these days.
It was extended too at that time and now measures 2,251 sq ft, with a new-look kitchen, dining room and living room at the back, open-plan and with floor–to-ceiling windows and French doors to the garden. The lounge area here has an atrium skylight and a woodburning stove, and there’s a separate utility off the kitchen.
Elsewhere on the ground floor there’s an oakfloored family room at the front of the house, also with a fireplace, and on the opposite side of the entrance hall a playroom.
The four bedrooms are on the first floor and two of them have en-suite showers. There’s also a bathroom on this level with a jacuzzi bath and rainfall shower.
The back garden faces due southeast and has a patio and artificial grass, with nothing but open space beyond, at least for now.
Malahide is known for its village shops, eateries and pubs, as well as its beach and harbour and is particularly popularity among sailing and golfing enthusiasts.
No30 Drumnigh Wood is for sale for €895,000 with Sherry FitzGerald Malahide, (01) 845 4500.
